Ingredient overview

What is Allantoin?

Allantoin is a skin-conditioning ingredient used in soothing and barrier-focused skincare. It is commonly included in creams, serums, cleansers and after-care products because it can support comfort and help soften dry or rough-feeling skin.

It is usually present at relatively low concentrations and is better understood as a supportive ingredient than a stand-alone treatment active. Its value often comes from how it complements humectants, emollients and barrier-support ingredients in the same formula.
