PDRN

PDRN is a regenerative-skincare trend used in Korean formulas focused on recovery, hydration and age-support benefits.

Also known as: Sodium DNA, Polydeoxyribonucleotide

Repair & Anti-ageing Evidence: Emerging

Ingredient overview

What is PDRN?

PDRN, or polydeoxyribonucleotide, is a DNA-derived biopolymer studied in regenerative medicine and dermatology. In clinical literature it is frequently delivered by injection or medical procedures, while cosmetic K-beauty products may instead list DNA-related materials such as sodium DNA or hydrolyzed DNA.

Recent randomized-trial reviews suggest potential for wound healing, scar and rejuvenation outcomes in medical PDRN or polynucleotide interventions, but those findings should not be automatically transferred to a topical cosmetic serum. For topical products, evidence for penetration, dose and equivalence remains much less established.

How to use it

Use topical PDRN or Sodium-DNA skincare according to product directions. Cosmetic serums and creams should be evaluated separately from injectable or procedural PDRN treatments.

Routine compatibility

Topical PDRN-style products can generally sit alongside peptides, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and barrier-support ingredients.

Good to know

Most stronger clinical evidence concerns injectable or procedure-associated PDRN/PN, not ordinary topical cosmetics. Product sourcing and the exact INCI form matter.
